Sometimes I wonder if writing so much h/c makes me a terrible person. It's totally understandable that neither Shinpachi or Kagura ever really asked about or found out anything about the Jyoui war, but at the same time that's such a gap in their understanding of Gintoki it's kind of glaring. (I wish the main battles of the actual Bakumatsu were less sea-oriented, inasmuch as it makes it a bit difficult to adapt to Gintama-verse. I guess you just have to adapt reality a bit more to wedge things together.)
